Thoraipakkam serves as one among the stoppages along the OMR or Rajiv Gandhi Salai. The neighborhood lies towards the east of reserve forest areas of Pallikaranai marsh. While OMR is full of diverse locations, the Thoraipakkam lies along the middle similar to Sholinganallur and it is of a total of 3km length.
As far as the connectivity is concerned, along the east-west, the Thoraipakkam Pallavaram Radial Ring Road joins hands with the GST Road which makes it convenient to travel to the Chennai international airport. Besides it is also convenient to get connected to the Tambaram-Velachery road. If you work in any of these locations as Pallikarnai, Injambakkam, Perungudi or Palavakkam, well, you can quickly travel from your home in Thoraipakkam or Okkiyam Thoraipakkam.
While Thoraipakkam was once a Village Panchayat, it has recently got merged with the Greater Chennai Corporation which is one of the prime reasons for the infrastructural developments in the locale. In the past decade, a number of residential and commercial developments have taken place. There is also a huge population of non-native residents staying here for official or personal reasons. In addition, having got its geography along the city’s major IT corridor, a lot of IT professionals prefer the destination.

Really a nice location and BSR mall is located here so entertainment wise its well and good. My office is in walkable distance from my PG, everything is convineant here.
